QBX class visit Dimboola

Another first for Western Victoria - Qube locomotives QBX003 and QBX004 became the first members of their class to visit Dimboola on Wednesday 6 February 2019.

These two locomotives travelled from New South Wales, via Melbourne, and arrived with a rake of ten WGBY and WGSY grain hoppers to which they would add a longer rake of similar hoppers that had been stored in the Dimboola Grainflow siding for the last couple of months.

It is assumed that they will load at that location later in the day before returning to New South Wales.

The Qube train is seen here idling in number two road at Dimboola station, waiting for Pacific National’s 3XM4 steel service, which at that time was being held out at Dimboola Loop with locomotives NR1-NR85-NR43 on the front, to cross. The picture was taken just before 10 00 this morning.

Whilst Qube has loaded grain at the Dimboola Grainflow Centre in the past, this is the first reported use of their QBX locomotives at this location.
